Alice "Janet" Rae (Sanders) Pavey

Alice Rae Janet (Sanders) Pavey, 81, of Hardinsburg, Indiana returned home into the loving arms of our Lord, on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Baptist Health- Floyd in New Albany, Indiana.  Alice was born on December 24, 1940 in Greenville, Indiana to the late Roy M. and Mary Edna (Jarboe) Sanders.

She attended Morgan Township School in Palmyra, Indiana.  She was a devoted Christian and amazing wife for 63 years to Raymond Pavey, who survives.  They were married on July 3, 1959.  She loved gardening, working in her flower beds, doing puzzles, and loved her family wholeheartedly.

She was a member of the Little Mission Church and was a retired furniture maker, working for Crestwood Manufacturing and Paoli Chair.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, James; and brothers:  Owen and Irvin Sanders.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond; her loving children:  Donnie Pavey (Sarah), Gary Pavey (Patricia), Kathy Fields (Ed), Sandy Pavey, Jerry Pavey (Bonnie), Hainc Pavey (Jennifer), Andrew Pavey, Mary Lou Clark, and Anthony Pavey (Kristy); 23 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren; brothers:  Marvin Sanders (Vivian), Wayne Sanders (Brenda), Charlie Sanders (Ellen), Elzy Sanders (Cindy), Raymond Jarboe (Helen); sisters:  Carolyn Rhoades, Irene Meadows, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Little Mission Church near Hardinsburg, Indiana.  Pastor George Key will officiate the service.

Calling hours is from 10:00 am until time of the service at 1:00 pm on Saturday, all at the church.
