Alma Lee (Armstrong) Hanger, 95, of English, Indiana died on December 14, 2020 at Todd-Dickey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Leavenworth, Indiana. She was born on December 10, 1925 in Sulphur, Indiana to the late Alva “Fudge” and Alma (Goldman) Armstrong. She married Gordon Hanger on August 31, 1946.
Alma Lee was a civil servant where she worked for Selective Service from the Korean War through the Vietnam Conflict. She was also co-owner of Hanger Equipment Company with her husband Gordon. Alma Lee was a member of Hillview Christian Church, the English Order of the Eastern Star, and a former member of the Blue River Industries Executive Board.
Alma Lee is survived by her son, Jeff (Karen) Hanger of Marengo, Indiana and Stephanie (Steve) Hart of Seymour, Indiana. Six grandchildren, Ali (Josh) Webb of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Tyler Wyman of Corydon, Indiana, Kyle hart of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Christopher (Melanie) Hanger of Taswell, Indiana, Kimberly (Cory) Byrum of Marengo, Indiana, and Jason (Christy) Byerly of Lexington, Kentucky. Five great-grandchildren also survive.
Alma Lee was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Gordon, her daughter Jill Wyman, and son-in-law Tom Wyman.
Due to Covid, a private family graveside service will held at Mather’s Chapel Cemetery near English, Indiana.
