August Eli Sams, 17, of Georgetown, Indiana died on August 30, 2023 at his residence. He was born on March 4, 2006 in Vancouver, Washington to Carlos T. Staples and Kayci N. Sams.
August was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Faith Harvest Youth Group, and Open House Church. August was an employee for Subway in Corydon, Indiana.
August was preceded in death by a great-grandfather, Sonnie Edwards.
August was survived by his parents, Carlos T. Staples and Kayci Nicole Sams; a brother, Nathaniel Michael Sams; sister, Aubryannah L. Sams, longtime girlfriend, Magy Garmon; Uncles, Robert Edwards, Jack Yorkovich, and Tyler Grim; grandparents, Keith “Eddie” and Karen Sams; great grandmother, Mary Dean Edwards; great-great-grandmother, Nell Dean; God Parents, Brian and Emma Oberdieck; and numerous aunts and cousins.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 10:30 am at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1505 St. John’s Church Rd. NE, Lanesville, Indiana 47136. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 from 9:00 am until time of the service at 10:30 am, at the church.
Pastor Mark Carnahan and Pastor Caleb Weaver will officiate the service.
