Bonnie J. (Smith) Allinger

Bonnie J. (Smith) Allinger, 96, of English, Indiana passed from this life on May 18, 2026 at Indian Creek Health and Rehabilitation Center in Corydon, Indiana.  Bonnie was born July 24, 1929 in Sulphur, Indiana to the late WIlliam and Mabel (Johnston) Smith.  She married Perry H. Allinger on July 26, 1947 and he preceded her in death on November 9, 2015.

Bonnie was a Fire Tower watchmen near West Fork and a homemaker.  Bonnie was a believer in the Lord and worshipped in the Pentecostal Faith.  She enjoyed painting pictures and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Perry Allinger; son, Robert Allinger; daughter, Sue Atkins; brothers, William, Clifford “Tip”, James, and Ernest Smith; grandson, Brian Atkins.

She is survived by her grandchildren, Aaron Allinger, Robin Huston, Kayla Allinger (Jane), and Cindy Ehle (John); great-grandchildren, Jessica Bye (Travis), Jacob Allinger, Gabriel East (Jewell), Gavin East, and Sadie Ehle; and several great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Jeffries Cemetery near Sulphur, Indiana.
