Charles Elwood Jellison, 83, of Eckerty, Indiana passed from this life on October 16, 2024 at Todd-Dickey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Charles was born on October 1, 1941 in Eckerty, Indiana to the late Coy and Dorothy (Montgomery) Jellison.
Charles worked for Ollinger Construction, Old Ben Coal Mine, and Gohmann Asphalt, during his working career. He was a member of the Fairview General Baptist Church, Local #181, and United Mine workers. Charles enjoyed farming, attending church, and was an avid Wolfpack Fan, supporting his children and grandchildren, during their sports events.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sondra K. Jellison; son-in-law, Scott Allen; brother, Gary Jellison; and his brother-in-law, Benny Rust.
He is survived by his sons: Tim A. Jellison (Tammy) of Dale, Indiana and Terry Jellison (Robin) of Eckerty, Indiana; daughter, Kim K. Allen of Eckerty, Indiana; brother, Roger Jellison of Taswell, Indiana; sisters: Charlotte Bullington (Jim) of Valeene, Indiana and Wanda Rust of Grandview, Indiana; grandchildren: Ashley Jeffries, Matthew Elam, Crystal Allen, Cody Jellison, Chelsea Burroughs, Jenny Jellison, Carley Allen, and Rease Allen; and great-grandchildren: Carter and Callie Burroughs, Palmer and June Hudson, Brody Jeffries, and Amiri Williams.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Fairview General Baptist Church, 5560 W. Patoka School Road, Taswell, Indiana 47175.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 4-8 p.m. and after 9:00 am until time of the service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, all at the church.
Interment will follow in the Taswell Cemetery.
Pastors Cody and Tim Jellison and Kim Allen will officiate the service.
