Charles Samuel Mason

Charles Samuel Mason, 91, of Leavenworth, Indiana passed from this life on May 31, 2026 at Todd-Dickey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  Sam was born on October 4, 1934 in Corydon, Indiana to the late Wayne and Ilia (Breeden) Mason.  

Sam was a former manager for O-Hi-View Hatchery in Leavenworth, Indiana and was formerly in Quality Control for Colgate-Palmolive.  He was a member of the Leavenworth Presbyterian Church, where he served as a trustee.  He was a former volunteer fireman for the Leavenworth Fire Department and a former Mason with the Leavenworth Posey Loge #188 F&AM.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley C. Mason; and a sister, Betty J. Cummings.

Sam is survived by his sons, Marcus W. Mason (Susan) and Kevin D. Mason (Debbie); grandchildren, Quinn Mason (Bethany), Kristen Johnston (James), and Brad Mason (Nick); great-grandchildren, Masie Johnston, Addie Johnston, and Wynnie Johnston; and sisters, Janet Mix and Judy Allen.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Brown-Newkirk Funeral Home, 306 Spring Street, Milltown, Indiana  47145.  Interment will follow in the Leavenworth Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 from 4-8 p.m. and after 11:00 a.m. until time of the service at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2026, all at the funeral home.

Steve Inman and Bro. Randy Coleman will be officiating. Russ Breeden will be giving the eulogy.
