Cheryl Jean Cart

Cheryl Jean Cart, 71, of Orleans, Indiana passed away on August 12, 2022.  

Cheryl was born June 3, 1951 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Daniel Boone Shelton and Betty Jean Mayer.

Cheryl is survived by her brothers Daniel (Diana) Jeffery, Bob Genung, Roger Genung, and Keith (Kaye) Frisby; and two nephews and four nieces.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her husband, George Ellinghusen; mother, Betty Jean Mayer; sons, Mark Shelton and Russell Shelton; father, Daniel Boone Shelton; and a brother, Robert Jeffery.

Cheryl had a great love for animals and left behind her precious little dog Sophie and her cat Kitty.  She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and loved serving the veterans.  She also loved quilting, crafting, fishing, dancing, spending time with family, and sassing her brother Daniel.

Graveside services will be for family and close friends on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Bloom-Riddle Cemetery in Alton, Indiana.
