Christopher Raymond Smith, 35, of Marengo, Indiana passed away unexpectedly on August 8, 2025. Chris was born on February 5, 1990 in Paoli, Indiana to Michelle Peacock and William “Bill” Smith. Chris grew up surrounded by love and laughter. Chris was known for his incredible sense of humor and infectious laugh. His favorite quote growing up was from LILO and Stitch, in a perfect stitch voice, he would rehearse “Ohana means family, and family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.”
Chris was a former employee of Fred Smith’s Store Fixtures and enjoyed learning and doing research of the Solar System, in which he was very knowledgable.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and uncle, Tom Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Denise L. Smith of Marengo; parents, Michelle Peacock (James) of Colorado and William “Bill” Smith (Vicki) of Birdseye, Indiana; children, Damian M., Joetta T., and Marleigh J. Montgomery all of Marengo, Indiana; brothers, Billy Smith of Indiana and Andrew Smith of Milltown, Indiana; sister, Chantel Miller (Brad) of Petersburg, Indiana; and nieces and nephews, Kyle, Westen, Aubrey, and Anna.
Funeral services will be on Friday, August 15, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 306 Spring Street, Milltown, Indiana 47145.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until time of the service at 6:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
Bro. Jim Smith will officiate the service.
