David Randall Crecelius, 76, died on September 25, 2023. David was born on September 8, 1947 in Marengo, Indiana to the late Jesse L. and Estell (Walters) Crecelius.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Maria Abel-Crecelius; daughters, Jennifer Chanley (Tim) and Amy Willett (Cody); and grandchildren, Devin Crecelius and Emma Chanley.
He enjoyed his family, friends, and country life. As a lifelong musician, he traveled around many states to perform his music. David was an avid gardener, caring for his orchard, canning and preserving food.
An artist, he created sculptures of iron, wood, found items, also painted on canvas.
David served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1968, serving in the Vietnam War.
He enjoyed photography and documented many scenes from his travels. He was a very prolific storyteller and quite willing to share his life’s stories.
He retired from ABCL Jeff Boat and Navistar International Harvester as a Millwright and Welder.
David enjoyed years of fishing, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, and many outdoor adventures.
Cremation was chosen with a celebration of life at a later date.
Brown Funeral Home, Milltown, Indiana has been entrusted with the arrangements.
