Edward Ray Stroud, 87, of Birdseye, Indiana died on September 14, 2021 at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper, Indiana. Edward was born on January 11, 1934 in English, Indiana to the late Leo Edward and Beatrice Sylvia (Bye) Stroud.
He was a former superintendent for Dolly Madison Office Furniture Factory. He was a charter member of the Birdseye Fire Department, Birdseye Christian Church, and Birdseye Conservation Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Faye Goss and May Seacat; brothers, Harold, Darrell, and Jack Stroud.
He is survived by his wife: Shirley D. (Ridenour) Stroud of Birdseye, Indiana; son, Ray E. Stroud (Kathy) of Birdseye, Indiana; brother, Terry L. Stroud (Patsy) of Milltown, Indiana; sister, Marlene “Doodie” Green of Milltown, Indiana; grandchildren: Joshua E. Stroud (Jennifer) and Benton A. Stroud (Amber); great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Alexis, Adalyn, Aliza Stroud.
Graveside services will be on Monday, September 20, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at the Birdseye Cemetery in Birdseye, Indiana. Pastor Ron Hickman will officiate the service.
Visitation will be on Monday, September 20, 2021 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana.
Memorial contributions can be given to the Birdseye Fire Department, 308 S. State Road 145, Birdseye, Indiana 47513 or to the Birsdeye Christian Church, 403 State Road 145, Birdseye, Indiana, In Memory of Edward R. Stroud.
