Elmer Ray Jenkins, 94, of Marengo, Indiana died on September 28, 2020 at Todd-Dickey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Leavenworth, Indiana. He was born on November 12, 1925 in Cape Sandy, Indiana to the late Oliver Logan and Edith Irene (Goldman) Jenkins.
He was owner and operator of Jenkins Heating and Air for over 54 years. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served in WWII, a 56 year Director on the Crawford County Water Company Board, and a member of the Marengo American Legion Post #84.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Norma Jean (Bowman) Jenkins; and sisters: Elsie Jenkins and Pearl Croxall.
He is survived by his son: Rodney R. Jenkins (Linda) of Depauw, Indiana; daughter: Connie J. Conklin (Paul) of Marengo, Indiana; grandchildren: Rae Ann Burden (Phillip) of Santa Claus, Indiana, Adam Conklin (Maria) of Salem, Indiana, Misty Goldman (Terry) of Marengo, Indiana, Chad Line (Lori) of Marengo, Indiana, and Jessica Nelson (Dave) of Corydon, Indiana; and great-grandchildren: Leah and Logan Burden, Nolan Goldman, and Jameson Maddox.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 1, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana. Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 from 4-8 pm and after 9:00 am until time of the service at 11:00 am on Thursday, all at the funeral home.
Bro. Morris Larimore will officiate the service.
Casket Bearers will be Adam Conklin, Phillip Burden, Terry Goldman, Dave Nelson, Nolan Goldman, and Chad Line.
