Francis Murdock, 96, of New Albany, Indiana passed away November 11, 2024 in Milltown, Indiana. Francis was born November 20, 1927 in the town of Islip on the South Shore of Long Island in New York to the late Clinton and Anne (Smith) Murdock.
Francis quit school in 9th grade and went to work. When he was old enough he joined the United States Army where he was a cook, truck driver, and mechanic.
In 1947 Francis met the late Anna Viola Snitko when she was seventeen. They married December 19, 1948, two weeks after Anna turned eighteen. They were married 72 years. Francis and Anna had two children: Fran and Danny.
In New York, Francis was a proud member of Teamsters Local 282. He hauled and delivered construction materials all over New York City, into New Jersey and Philadelphia as well.
Francis and Anna left the shores of Long Island and settled in the Ohio river hills of southern Indiana in 1987.
Francis had three hobbies that brought him joy and relaxation throughout his life. Starting at the age of ten all the way through his golden years Francis was a pigeon fancier, meaning he raised and cared for pigeons. He was also a talented artist. Francis loved to paint, sketch and doodle. It gave him much pleasure to draw someone
