Freida (Decker) Grant

Freida Decker Grant, 72, of Milltown, Indiana died on January 1, 2022 at the Todd-Dickey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  She was born on July 9, 1949 in Anneta, Kentucky to the late Curtis and Pauline (Day) Decker.

Freida was a city carrier for the United States Postal Service in Louisville, Kentucky from 1968 to 1970, served as Clerk from 1970-1993 in Milltown, Depauw, and various other offices, and served as Postmaster for the Crandall Post Office from 1993- until she retired in 2009.  Frieda was a member of the Liberty View Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Brent Grant;  her fiance, Ronnie Vance; sister, Vena Decker; brother-in-law, Paul Timberlake.

She is survived by her son, Timothy Grant (Angie) of Milltown, Indiana; daughter, Melissa Murphy (Troy) of Milltown, Indiana; brothers:  Coy Decker and Gilbert Decker (Thelma) both of Milltown, Indiana; sisters, Donna Timberlake of Corydon, Indiana and Beverly Sullivan (Clifford) of Georgetown, Indiana; grandchildren, Cooper and Max Murphy, Kayla Byers; great-grandchildren:  Tori and Lexi; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Liberty View Church near Milltown, Indiana.  Interment will follow in the Milltown Cemetery.

Friends may call on Monday, January 3, 2022 from 3-8 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home and after 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at the Liberty View Church.

The family would like to thank the staff at Cedar Court in Corydon, Indiana and Todd-Dickey Nursing and Rehabilitation at Leavenworth, Indiana for the care given to Frieda during her stay.
