George E. Novak, 75, of Marengo, Indiana passed from this life on April 28, 2025 at his residence. George was born on October 9, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois to the late George A. and Shirley M. (Stevens) Novak.
George was former owner/operator of Novak Bulldozing. He always stated that his occupation was his hobby. He was a member of the Community Worship Chapel near Marengo, Indiana and a former board member of the Marengo Wesleyan Church. He enjoyed helping others, listening to gospel music, traveling and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Helen A. (Hamilton) Novak; sons, Cory E. Novak and his wife Ruthann and Clint D. Novak and his wife, Sara; daughter-in-law, Robyn Novak; brothers, Carl E., David A., Kenneth J., and Paul J. Novak; sister Norma J. Hurt; grandchildren, Nikki Parr (Derrick), Dakota Novak (Shaifer), Trey Novak (Mekayla), Reece Novak, Cruz Novak, and Knox Novak; and 4 great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Jeremy Novak.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Community Worship Chapel, 4925 State Road 64, Marengo, Indiana 47140. Interment will follow in the Mathers Chapel Cemetery near English, Indiana.
Visitation will be on Friday, May 2, 2025 from 4-8 p.m. and on Saturday, May 3, 2025 after 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at 11:00 a.m., all at the church.
Bro. Toney McCutcheon and Bro. Mark Manship will officiate the service.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-9959.
