Hughes Raymond Richardson, 85, of Ramsey, Indiana died on September 26, 2020 at Harrison Springs Healthcare Campus. He was born on December 23, 1934 in Orange County, Indiana to the late Hughes Edmond & Ruby Lucille (Vanlaningham) Richardson. He was united in marriage on May 21, 1955 to Joleen Marie Tindall. To this union was born three beautiful daughters, Vickie Jo, Rita Ann, and Sharon Rena.
He was preceded in death by his precious daughters, Rita Ann Thevenot and Vickie Jo Kinser, his parents, Hughes and Ruby Richardson, a sister Wanda Warren, and a brother, Clarence Richardson.
He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior early in his marriage and was a member of the Marengo Wesleyan Church.
He retired from Schmidt Cabinet Company at New Salisbury. He loved wood working and made various items from rocking horses, bedroom suites, gun cabinets, tables and basically anything anyone wanted. His work can be found across the country; with at least one-bedroom suite as far away as New York. God gave him an incredibly special talent.
He is survived by loving wife of 65 years Joleen Marie (Tindall) Richardson; a daughter Sherry Bye (Mark) of Corydon; a son-in-laws Terry Kinser of Eckerty and Allen Thevenot of Palmyra; one grandson, Anthony Thevenot of New Salisbury; five granddaughters, Sonja Parks (Joe) of Marengo, Jessica Rhodes (Rob) of Corydon, Amanda Wilson (Gene) of Corydon, Heather Trobaugh (Thomas) of Milltown, and Larissa Mortensen (Bryant) of Corydon, two brothers, Charles Lloyd Richardson of Paoli and Calvin Richardson of Marengo, four sisters, Ethel Nelson of Paoli, Mary Knight of Birdseye, Linda Ivey (Kenny) of Bedford, and Kay Doenges (Loy) of Hardinsburg, eleven great grandchildren, Nikki, Makalya, and Ryan Parks, Kodi, Deaven, and Austyn Stepp, Hudson Rhodes, Broly Wilson, Chaos, Havoc, and Tindall Trobaugh and a precious baby girl due in October, two great-great grandchildren, ShayLynn Atwood, Kayden Parks and a precious baby girl due in December, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at 1:00 pm at the New Salisbury Christian’s Missionary Church, Hwy. 64, New Salisbury, IN. Interment will follow in the Woods Chapel Cemetery near Ramsey, IN.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 from 3-8 pm and after 9:00 am until time of the service at 1:00 pm, all at the church.
Bro. Eric Satterfield will officiate the service.
