James H. “Jim” Johnson of Leavenworth, Indiana died on January 17, 2022 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. James was born on December 12, 1933, the 8th child of John and Bessie (Kemp) Johnson at Alton, Indiana.
He attended Alton Grade School where he graduated 8th grade and then went to Leavenworth High School where he graduated in 1953. He worked at many factory jobs and later owned and operated Johnson’s Shell Service in Leavenworth and drove a school bus for the Crawford County School Corporation. He later retired from maintenance at several nursing homes.
He was a 65 year member of the Leavenworth Presbyterian Church and a 50 year member of Posey Masonic Lodge in Leavenworth, Indiana.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death, by siblings, Alberta Forbes (Tommy), Naomi Bernardi (Lester), Imogene Thompson (Claude), Charles Clifford Johnson (Dorothy), Alice Pearl Bates (Homer), John Edward Johnson (Mildred) and Joseph Johnson (Katherine).
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Patricia “Patsy” (Beals) Johnson, and 4 children: Rhonda Lynn Wiseman, Jerry Bruce Johnson (Sandy), Stacy Kim Johnson, and Tami K. Humphrey (John); grandchildren: Kyle O. Wiseman (Debbie), Jami Weckstein (Keith), Samantha Kerce (Cliff), Wendy Broughton (Paul), Johnna Parr (Travis), Jerrah Crecelius (Chris) and a step-granddaughter Denise Whaley (Kevin); 11 great-grandchildren, and 11 step-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana. Bro. Marvin Culver will officiate the service.
Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. until time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
