Obituary

John William Denton, 69, of English, Indiana died on December 31, 2022 at his residence.  He was born on September 3, 1953 in New Albany, Indiana to the late Charles William and Hilda Faye (Crecelius) Denton.

 

John was a United States Air Force Veteran having served during Desert Storm.  John was a member of the Alton American Legion Post #133 and enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and working with his tractor.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shirley M. (Jarvis) Denton; sons, John Joseph “Jay” Denton, Billy Joe Turben, and Benjamin L. Turben; granddaughter, Kara Ann Denton; and brothers, Randy and Jerry Denton.

 

He is survived by his son, Robert Turben of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughters, Rose Turben of English, Indiana, Sherry Majors of Marengo, Indiana, and Barbara Turben of English, Indiana; sister, Donna Johnson of English, Indiana; 14 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Visitation will be on Saturday, January 7, 2023 from 2-7 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana.
