Jon Robert Combs

Jon Robert Combs, 66, of English, Indiana passed from this life on September 10, 2024 at IU Hospital- Paoli.  Jon was born on August 14, 1958 in New Albany, Indiana to Sara B. (Batman) Combs and the late John Ishmael Combs.

Jon was a retired jailer for the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department for 24 years.  Jon enjoyed four wheeling, kayaking, and spending time with family.

Jon was preceded in death by his father, John Ishmael Combs; brothers:  Timothy Paul and Kenneth David Combs; and grandparents:  Henry and Lottie Combs and Anita and Robert Batman.

He is survived by his mother, Sara (Batman) Combs;  siblings:  Laura Jane Combs-Moore (Dwayne) of Indianapolis, Indiana, Karen Hanger (Jeff) of Marengo, Indiana, and Brian L. Combs (Gina) of Borden, Indiana; nephews:  Jason Byerly (Christy) of Lexington, Kentucky and Caleb Combs of Charlestown, Indiana; nieces:  Sara Sherley of Radcliffe, Kentucky and Emily Hinckley (Alex) of Zhuhai, China; 4 great nieces and 2 great nephews.

A memorial service will be on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana.  Visitation will be from 3-6 pm on Friday, September 13, 2024 at the funeral home.

Jason Byerly will officiate the service.

Interment will follow in the Marengo Cemetery at a later date.
