Joseph Chester (J.C.) Bittner, 79, of Corydon, Indiana, formerly of Milltown, Indiana died on February 18, 2025 at Indian Creek Healthcare in Corydon, Indiana. He was born on January 20, 1946 in Sellersburg, Indiana to the late George and Marie (Worthington) Bittner.
J.C. was a retired crane operator for Henry Vogt in Louisville, Kentucky and formerly worked at Jasper Engines and Transmissions near Carefree, Indiana. He was a United States Navy Veteran, serving, underground submarine for 4 years and was a member of Pfrimmer’s Chapel Church, where he loved singing in the choir. He dearly loved his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
He enjoyed the outdoors, spending time boating, fishing, and hunting. He was an avid I.U. Basketball fan.
He is survived by his wife, Janet R. (Mayfield) Bittner; son, Jimmy Bittner; step-daughters, Jana West (Allen), Marsha Pavey (Larry), Stephannie Harney (Dennis), and Christian Johnson; grandchildren, Austin, Bostin, Adrienne, Tiffany, Bethany, David, and Aaron; several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Jimmy Bittner Jr.
Funeral services will be on Friday, February 21, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until time of the service at 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
