Joyce L. (Brown) Kemp, 65, of Marengo, Indiana passed from this life on September 24, 2025 at her residence. Joyce was born on December 19, 1959 in Fairmont, West Virginia to the late Jim and Peggy S. (Kemper) Spurling.
Joyce was a former cook at Marcy’s Kitchen in English, Indiana. Joyce was a believer in the Christian Faith, enjoyed shopping, and spending time with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles “Chuck” Kemp, and a brother, Dave Brown.
She is survived by her children: Rebecca Montgomery (Ryan) of West Fork, Indiana, Danny Brown (April) of Marengo, Indiana, Joe Kemp (Amy) of Bristow, Indiana, and Michelle Claudio (Brian) of Clarksville, Indiana; brothers, Richard Brown (Debbie) of Louisville, Kentucky and James Spurling (Georgia) of Tell City, Indiana; her best friend, Imogene Talley; and numerous co-workers and friends at Marcy’s Kitchen; grandchildren, Steven Wiseman (Alicia), Jessica Brown, Darren Wiseman, Ashley Brown, Dasia Allen (Marrice), Olivia Miles (Derek), Kaitlin Green (Cody), Nathan Claudio, Nathan Wiseman (Hailee), Ethan Hunt, Mariah Claudio, and Cierra Wiseman; great-grandchildren, Journey, Honor, Brooklyn, Hunter, Jayce, Addyson, Mayci, Jameson, Brady, Maxwell, Judy, Laken, and Melanie.
Funeral services will be on Monday, September 29, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home, 306 Spring Street, Milltown, Indiana 47145. Interment will follow in the Pleasant/Tick Ridge Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Sunday, September 28, 2025 from 4-8 p.m. and on Monday, September 29, 2025, after 9:00 until time of the service at 11:00 a.m., all at the funeral home.
Bro. Denny Moon will officiate the service.
The family would like for everyone to wear their Joyce Kemp cancer shirts on Sunday, the night of the visitation. If you don’t have a shirt, you may wear anything that is the color purple.
