Laura K. (Johnson) McClure

Laura Kathryn (Johnson) McClure, 94, of Leavenworth, Indiana passed from this life on September 14, 2024 at Indian Creek Healthcare in Corydon, Indiana.  Laura was born on July 15, 1930 in Bell County, Kentucky to the late Nelson and Matilda (Summers) Johnson.

Laura was a former employee for O-Hi-View Egg Hatchery and was a homemaker.  She was a member of the Alton American Legion Post #133 Women’s Auxiliary and enjoyed walking and spending time outdoors.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sam McClure; son, Leroy Lynch; 2 granddaughters; 1 grandson, 1 great-grandson; and siblings:  Lola Jackson, Minerva Andrews, Rose Austin, Dorothy Lucas, Maddie Turner, Raymond Johnson, and Amos Johnson.

She is survived by her sons:  Dennis Lynch (Teresa), Indiana, James Lynch (Fanny), and Larry Lynch (Debbie) all of Leavenworth, Indiana; daughters:  Evelyn Cochran, Alice Lynch, Barbara Stonecipher (Joe) and Ramona Sheckells, all of Leavenworth, Indiana; 23 grandchildren and 41 great-grandchildren, and numerous great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jean Dupont of Leavenworth, Indiana.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana.  Interment will follow in the Fredonia Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Monday, September 16, 2024 from 4-8 p.m. and after 10:00 am until time of the service at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, all at the funeral home.

Bro. Marvin Culver will officiate the service.
