Loren L. Sweeney, 93, of Marengo, Indiana died on June 22, 2021 at Harrison Healthcare in Corydon, Indiana. Loren was born on February 12, 1928 in Salem, Indiana to the late John L. Edna B. (Martin) Sweeney.
Loren was a minister of several churches for over 73 years. He was a former manager of Wonder Valley Christian Camp and a member of the Marengo Christian Church.
Loren was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Ruby R. (Weathers) Sweeney; second wife: Rebecca A. Sweeney; brothers: David and Roger Sweeney; a great-granddaughter: Tatum Crouch; and a step-son: Melvin Line.
Loren is survived by sons: Delvin R. Sweeney (Cyndi) of Campbellsburg, Indiana, Rodney W. Sweeney (Beverly)- Salem, Indiana, M. Van Sweeney (Rhonda) of Marysville, Tennessee; daughters: Regina L. Humphrey (Roddy) of Salem, Indiana, Angel D. Price (Jeff) of Marysville, Indiana, and Lorna G. Smitha (John) of Mt. Eden, Kentucky; step-sons: Alan, Ron, and Don Line; brother, Bill Sweeney of Liberty, Indiana; sisters: Betty Gray of Scottsburg, Indiana, Nancy Worley of Texas, Rena Brown of New Salisbury, Indiana; 16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 11:00 am at the Marengo Christian Church. Bro. Dee Sweeney will officiate the service. Interment will follow in the Mt. Tabor Christian Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 3-8 pm and after 9:00 am until time of the service at 11:00 am on Friday, June 25, 2021, all at the Marengo Christian Church.
