Lovell L. Wilkes, 85, of English, Indiana died on November 1, 2020 at Legacy Living in Jasper, Indiana. He was born on August 21, 1935 in Perry County, Indiana to the late Clarence Albert and Minnie Maybelle (Knieriem) Wilkes.
He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Local #181. He was a 50 year member of the Newton Stewart Masonic Lodge #432, Hadi Shrine in Evansville, Indiana and the Scottish Rite.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Bonnie J. (Patton) Wilkes; a brother, Denzil Wilkes; and a sister, Iris Ballard.
He is survived by his son: Ricky L. Wilkes (Gladys) of Birdseye, Indiana; daughter: Debra J. Schepers of Taswell, Indiana; brothers: Basil and Robert Wilkes both of English, Indiana; sisters: Verna Smith of English, Indiana and Patsy Eckert of Birdseye, Indiana; grandchildren: Chad Kemp, Brad Kemp, Camie Wiseman, and Lindsey Newton; and great-grandchildren: Taylin Newton, Lillian Wiseman, Olivia Kemp, and Avery Wiseman.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 at 12:30 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Highfill Chapel Cemetery near Taswell, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until time of the service at 12:30 on Tuesday, at the Brown Funeral Home. Masonic Rites will be at 12:00 pm.
Pastor Harold Bayer will officiate the service.
