Lowell M. Brooks

Lowell M. Brooks, 86, of English, Indiana died on October 10, 2021 at his residence.  Lowell was born on April 12, 1935 in Battletown, Kentucky to the late Albert and Naomi (Sturgeon) Brooks.  

Lowell was a Riverboat Captain for ACBL for 45 years.  He was a member of the Posey Masonic Lodge #188.

Lowell was survived by his son, Ricky Brooks of English, Indiana; daughters, Patty Brooks and Rosalinda Cochran both of English, Indiana; sisters:  Mary Johnson of Corydon, Indiana, Lynda Alexander of Florida, Carol Sue Wellman of Georgetown, Indiana, Lucille Belle of Champaign, Illinois; grandchildren:  Ethan and Jeremy Mercer, Ivy Brooks, and Shane Cochran; great-grandchildren:  Katlynn, Xander, Canaan, Tristin, Colby and Canyon Mercer, Ally, Bella, and Ryker Brooks, Brayden, Kylee, and Carter Cochran, and Tristin Buchanan.

Lowell was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Delia J. (Sauerheber) Brooks; sons:  Robert and Michael Brooks; brothers:  Gene, Ray, and Charlie Brooks; and sisters:  Pauline Wiseman and Dorothy Kellems.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana.  Interment will follow in the Fredonia Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 4-8 pm and after 10:00 am until time of the service at 1:00 pm on Thursday, all at the funeral home.

David Wilkins will officiate the service.
