Macel W. (Hammond) Mitchell

Macel W. (Hammond) Mitchell, 86, of Eckerty, Indiana died on October 15, 2021 at her residence.  Macel was born on December 20, 1934 in Mifflin, Indiana to the late Harmon “Hop” and Ernel (Judd) Hammond.

Macel was a homemaker and loved to play Bingo, Euchre, listen to country music, and to mushroom hunt.

She is survived by her daughters:  Penny Gray and Lew Holt both of Eckerty, Indiana; brother, Eddie Hammond of West Fork, Indiana; grandchildren:  Justin and Cody Froman, Rocky and Mayc Gray, Jacki Rowley, Dawn Mauck, Travis Scott, Dyla Barrett, David, Nathan, and Danny Ray Deweese, and Heather Sanders; and 24 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Stanley Mitchell; daughters:  Sherry H. Deweese and Marilyn L. Scott; brothers:  her twin- Milburn and Harold Hammond; sisters:  Beulah Fern Hammond, Mabel Polen, and Violet Hammond.

Funeral services will be on Monday, October 18, 2021 at 10:30 am at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana.  Interment will follow in the Bethany Union Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Sunday, October 17, 2021 from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. and on Monday, October 18, 2021 after 9:00 a.m. until time of the service, all at the funeral home.

Pastor Kim Allen will officiate.
