Mary Frances (Satterly) Powell

Mary Frances (Satterly) Powell, 89, of Marengo, Indiana died on September 20, 2023 at Todd-Dickey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  Mary was born on July 19, 1934 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Clarence Satterly and Mary Ethel (Palmer) Meyers.

Mary was a homemaker and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.  She was a former volunteer for the Mt. Zion Clothes Closet and volunteer at the Crawford County Public Library.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James A. Powell Sr.; brothers, Marvin, Walter, James, and Raymond Satterly; sisters, Pearl, Marie, Geneva, and Eliza, and a grandson, James Edward Fentress Jr.

She is survived by her children:  Veronica Pierce (Stacy) of Radcliffe, Kentucky; James A. Powell Jr. (Bobbi) of Dubois, Indiana, Frannie A. Williams of Marengo, Indiana, Debbie Powell (Denise Harp) of Marengo, Indiana; and Laura Mitchaner of Indianapolis; a brother, Charles Satterly of Arizona; a sister, Juanita Sciullo of Gulf Port, Florida; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Sunday, September 24, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana.  Interment will follow in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery near Marengo, Indiana.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 10:00 am until time of the service at 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

Bro. Terry Kinser will officiate the service.
