Michael L. Schooler, 76, of Marengo, Indiana died on September 11, 2025 at Todd-Dickey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Leavenworth, Indianan. Michael was born on September 25, 1948 in Regensburg, Germany to the late Ernest “Ernie” and Barbara (Blake) Schooler.
Michael was a former electrician for Horseshoe Casino and was a United States Marine Corp Veteran, earning several distinguished medals. He earned a National Defense Medal, Vietnam Cross of Gallentry with a bronze star, and a Combat Action Ribbon, a bronze star , and a sharpshooter Medal for rifle (M-14). He enjoyed drinking cokes and eating cupcakes.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his sons, Shawn M. Schooler (Billy Jo) of Marengo, Indiana and Jason L. Schooler (Stacy) of Leavenworth, Indiana; his grandchildren, Jason Tyler Schooler and Kaylee Schooler; a brother, Terry Schooler of Frisco, Indiana; and four nephews.
Funeral services will be on Monday, September 15, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Marengo Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Monday, September 15, 2025 from 10:00 am until time of the service at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home.
Military Rites will be performed by the English VFW Post #6160.
