Norma Ruth (Allen) Sturgeon

Norma Ruth (Allen) Sturgeon, 84, of Taswell, Indiana died on March 14, 2023 at Memorial Hospital and Health Services in Jasper, Indiana.  She was born on September 20, 1938 in Wickliffe, Indiana to the late Earl and Louisa (Gottfried) Allen.

Norma was a cashier for Jay-C Food Store in English, Indiana for 35 years.  She was of the Baptist Faith, loved to raise flowers, loved to cook, go to yard sales, bird watch, and most of all, loved her family.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Barbara (Barbie) Sturgeon; brother, Harold Allen, a sister, Jean Allen and was proceded in death by her son-in-law, Evan Oxley.

She is survived by her son Mark Sturgeon of Orleans, Indiana; daughters:  Debbie Oxley of Eckerty, Indiana, Terry Andry (Eddie) of Birdseye, Indiana, and Lisa Sturgeon of English, Indiana; grandchildren:  Misty Mahoney, Shiann Snawder, Kade Oxley, Robert Cooper, Kristy Weyrauch, Jody Montgomery, Cody Cummings, Amy Forbes, and Ashley Hooten; numerous great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Allen of Taswell, Indiana; a sister, Linda Gilmore (Randy) of Birdseye, Indiana; sister-in-law, Judy Allen of Taswell, Indiana; and her furry companion, Toodles.

Funeral services will be on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at the Fairview General Baptist Church near Taswell, Indiana.  Interment will follow in the Wickliffe Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 17, 2023 from 3-8 pm and Saturday, March 18, 2023 after 10:00 am until time of the service at 1:00 p.m., all at the Fairview General Baptist Church.

Bro. Bob Deel will officiate the service.

Casket Bearers will be Rob Cooper, Cody Cummings, Kade Oxley, Alec Enlow, Christian Montgomery, Issaiah Montgomery, Spencer Enlow, and Kegun Mushinski.

Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana is entrusted with the arrangements.
