Patricia S. (Sturms) "Patty" Hickman

Patricia S. “Patty” (Sturms) Hickman, 76, of Marengo, Indiana passed from this life on December 31, 2023 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.  Patty was born on February 9, 1947 in Fredericksburg, Indiana to the late Ernest D. and Ruby Pauline (Pitman) Welman.

She was a former welder for ICON Manufacturing.  She was a member of the Hillview Christian Church and was an avid healthcare aide, providing at home health care for many in our area.  She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, never met a stranger and loved the Lord.

She is survived by her husband Warren D. “Red” Hickman; an infant daughter, Hope Hammack; a niece who was like a daughter, Shawn Hanifen; brother, Paul B. Welman; sisters, Linda Smith and Rita D. Schmidt (Brian); nine nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, George Sturms and sisters:  Judy Lincoln and Bonnie J. Edwards.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hillview Christian Church, 4180 Hwy. 64, Marengo, Indiana  47140.  Interment will follow in the El Bethel Cemetery, near Milltown, Indiana.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 4-8 p.m. and after 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at 11:00 a.m., all at the church.

Bro. Bruce Hawkins and Bro. Paul Walerczak will officiate the service.
