Peggy J. (Shafer) Hammond

Peggy J. (Shafer) Hammond, 74, of Marengo, Indiana passed from this life on February 22, 2025 at Baptist Health- Louisville, Kentucky.  Peggy was born on October 17, 1950 in English, Indiana to the late Pearl C. and Clara M. (Lewis) Shafer.

Peggy was a former truck driver and was a certified Emergency Medical Technician for the Crawford County Emergency Medical Services.  She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing Jeopardy.

She was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Ivan and Cleo Shafer, and Roger Bruce Riddle.

She is survived by her companion, Travis Rosand; sons, Tommy VanWinkle; step-son, Arni VanWinkle (Brenda); daughters, Andy Foster (Kalup), Julie Crawford-Reyling (Mark Dunkel), and Missy Jones (Tim); brothers, Robert Shafer and Edward Sharp; sister, Mari Baltitas; grandchildren, Kyle Neal, Wesley Pevlor, Anya Neal, Raven Passmore, Gavin Foster, Morgan Reyling-Schwartz, Roman Reyling, Bryce Jones, Lucas Jones, Bodhi VanWinkle, and Bailey Richardson; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Cremation was chosen and no services scheduled at this time.

Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana is entrusted with the arrangements.
