Rebecca J. Walts

Rebecca J. Walts, 73, of Marengo, Indiana passed from this life to receive her heavenly reward on April 1, 2025 at her residence.  Rebecca was born on December 12, 1951 in New Albany, Indiana to the late W. Hedric and Opal L. (McIntosh) Walts.

Rebecca was a teacher and manager at Lincoln Hills Development Corporation for 36 years and currently the front desk receptionist for the Crawford County Boys and Girls Club in Marengo, Indiana.

She was a 1969 graduate of the Leavenworth High School.  She was a member of the English Church of God where she served as pianist and enjoyed singing.  She enjoyed traveling for Southern Gospel Music concerts and enjoyed the Gaithers and McKameys, just to name a few.  The highlight of her life was caring for her nieces and nephews, among countless other children that have crossed her path.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Peggy J. Bell.

She is survived by her brother, David Wright; her brother-in-law, Wade Bell; nieces, Kara Fraley and her husband Daniel and Kayla Kreilein and her husband Nathan; great nephews, Clayton and Aidan Sheckells, and Emmett Fraley; and great nieces, Kimberly and Sterling Fraley, and Mila Kreilein.

Funeral services will be on Monday, April 7, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana.  Interment will follow in the El Bethel Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Sunday, April 6, 2025 from 3-8 p.m. and on Monday, April 7, 2025, after 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at 11:00 a.m., all at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given,In lieu of flowers, to the Crawford County Boys and Girls Club, 177 2nd Street, Marengo, Indiana  47140.
