Rev. Tilden R. Jones

Rev. Tilden R. Jones, 89, of Grantsburg, Indiana passed peacefully into the presence of his Savior on Thursday, February 26, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at the Indiana Masonic Home at Compass Park in Franklin, Indiana.  Rev. Jones was born on November 22, 1936 in Crawford County, Indiana to the late William Leonard and Virtie (Sutton) Jones. 

Rev. Jones faithfully served in ministry for more than 50 years, including 5 years at Green Briar, 40 years as pastor of Bethany Union Church in English, Indiana and 19 years at Mifflin Community Church.  He also served approximately 30 years as President of the Eckerty Holiness Camp Association.  In addition to his ministry, he worked full time for many years while caring for and providing for his family. He was also a proud United States Army Veteran.

Rev. Jones was preceded in death by his parents; three grandchildren, Elijah and Adam Jones, and Justin Mullis; Mary L. Jones, the mother of his children; and siblings:  Paul, Kenneth, Melvin, and Meredith Jones, Dorthy Link, Louise Thomas, Grace Ellen Poe, and Thelma Cravens.

He is survived by his children, Tina, Joel, Leonard, and Ramona; ten grandchildren; his brother, Rev. Philo Jones; and many nieces and nephews.  His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched with his faithful service to God and his community.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the English Wesleyan Church, 312 S. Main Street, English, Indiana  47118.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 2, 2026 from 4-8 p.m. and after 9:00 a.m. until time of the service at 11:00 a.m., all at the English Wesleyan Church.

 Rev. Chris Cravens and Rev. Philo Jones will officiate the funeral service.

Interment will follow in the Batman Ridge Cemetery near Milltown, Indiana.
