Robert L. (Pee Wee) Wilkes

Robert L. “Pee Wee” Wilkes, 83, of English, Indiana died on July 8, 2023 at Kindred Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.  Robert was born on July 26, 1939 in Posey County, Indiana to the late Clarence and Minnie (Knieriem) Wilkes.

He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Local #181 and former owner of Wilkes Paving.  He was a member of the Eckerty Masonic Lodge #719 and Evansville Scottish Rite.  He was a Kentucky Colonel, avid IU and Crawford County Basketball Fan.

He is survived by his companion, Lou Brewer of Depauw, Indiana; sons, Terry L. Wilkes (Karla) of Eckerty, Indiana and Timothy L. Wilkes (Susan) of Carefree, Indiana; sisters, Verna Smith of Sulphur, Indiana and Patsy Eckert of Birdseye, Indiana; 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren;

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers:  Basil, Lovell, and Denzil Wilkes.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 11:00 am at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana.  Interment will follow in the Eckerty Cemetery.

Vistation will be on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 from 4-8 pm and after 9:00 am until time of the service at 11:00 am, all at the funeral home.

Bro. Rick Utz will officiate the service.

Masonic Rites will be on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home by the Eckerty Masonic Lodge #719.
