Ruth Janice (Wood) Terry, 90, of Marengo, Indiana passed from this life on July 9, 2024 at Lincoln Hills Health Center in New Albany, Indiana. Ruth was born in Milltown, Indiana on October 19, 1933 to the late Harry L. and Pauline G. (Vernon) Wood.
Ruth was a former computer programmer for Sandia Missile Base in Albuquerque, New Mexico, U.S. Census Bureau in Jeffersonville, Indiana and was a former waitress. She was a member of the Marengo Christian Church, Crawford County Genealogical and Historical Society.
She loved her dog “Pinto,” enjoyed gardening, crafting, woodworking, and traveling. She loved her time spent in Albuquerque, New Mexico and missed being there. She loved all her family and loved walking outdoors barefoot, “to feel the ground.”
She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Harry L. Byrn.
She is survived by her sons: Bord Edward Byrn Jr. (Joyce) and Roy Nolan Byrn (Kim); daughters, Helen Jean Byrn, Lois Leona Byrn Oden (Jack), and Renee` Ruth Romines (Mike); grandchildren, Paul E. Forbes, Monica Brooke, James E. Jones, Clinton, Cassandra, Allison, and Colleen Byrn; great-grandchildren: Payton Wright, Parker Jones, Vanessa Estrada, Mariah Estrada, Anthony Justin Estrada; great-great-grandchildren: Bo Wright, Jensen and Ronnie Byrn, Augusta Estrada, Ezra Martinez, and Elena Martinez; and great-great-great-grandchild, Matheo Ruben Martinez.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana. Interment will follow in the El Bethel Cemetery near Milltown, Indiana,
Visitation will be on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home.
Bro. Bruce Hawkins will officiate the service.
