Samuel Jay Bargo Sr., 77, of Depauw, Indiana died on February 10, 2020 at his residence. He was born on January 16, 1943 in Harlan County, Kentucky to the late Edward and Etta (Garland) Bargo.
He was a former correctional officer for Pendleton Reformatory and a Navy Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Milltown American Post #332 and a loyal member of the Squirrel Hunters Convention.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara K. (Loy) Bargo; daughter, Kimberly Jean Bargo Riggins; brothers, Clarence Ray, Kenneth, and Billy Bargo; and a sister, Judy Bargo.
He is survived by his sons: Samuel Jay Bargo Jr. (Emmy) and Nathan L.R. Bargo (Diane); daughter, Barbara Darlene Bargo-Hornbeck (Ricky); brother, Dan Bargo; sisters, Betty Gilbert, Diane Lloyd, and Dee Campbell; grandchildren: Danielle Nicole Bargo, Benjamin Wesley Bargo (Darian), Caleb Riggins and fiance, Carrie, Hannah Riggins and fiance ALyssia, Aleczander Bargo and fiance, Dyzia, Sean Bargo and wife, April, and Ashlee Bargo; 3 great-granchildren: Jessika, Braelyn, and Aspen; and his faithful companion, Phantom.
Funeral services will be on Friday, February 14, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana. Interment will follow on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at West Lawn Cemetery in Farmersburg, Indiana.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 14, 2020 from 3-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pastor Wesley Jones will officiate the service.
