Sandra L. Evans, 68, of Leavenworth, passed on to the next life on December 27, 2022. Sandra was born in New Albany, Indiana in 1954 and raised in Leavenworth, Indiana with her six siblings. Sandra always felt at home in the country.
Sandra was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary in Alton and was president for a few years. She was an amazing seamstress and cook. She was a master at avoiding the camera. She had a fierce sense of humor and could bring light to any situation. She was an incredible mother who never gave up on her kids and pushed them to be their best. She always put family first.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Owen and Mary (Goldman) Johnson and her sister, Janis.
She is severely missed by her three children: Lee, Janie, and Leslie; five grandchildren, Brandon, Zack, Matthew, Taylor, and Josh; two great-grandchildren, Raymie and May Lily. She is also mourned by her siblings: Mitchell, Mark, Douglas, Jennifer, and Richard. There are too many more family and friends to fully list here, but we know she was loved and gave love through her life.
A celebration of Sandy’s life will be held January 14, 2023 at the Fredonia Community Center from 12:00-3:00 pm. All are welcome to stop by.
Brown Funeral Home in Milltown was entrusted with the arrangements.
