Judge Scott Tower Miller (Scott T.) passed away peacefully at IU Health on February 8, 2022 in Indianapolis, Indiana at the age of 80, a month short of his 81st birthday.
He attended Marengo High School and graduated from Kentucky Military Institute in 1959. He married Barbara Jean Bardowell in 1963 in Kingston, Jamaica and they had 3 children together. In 1968, Scott graduated from University of Louisville with a Juris Doctor of Law. From 1969-1971, he accepted a position in Indianapolis and worked as U.S. Assistant Attorney General with an emphasis on highway cases and eminent property domain cases. From 1971-1973, he was an U.S. Assistant District Attorney special agent on Narcotics and Drug Task Force (ODAL). In 1973 Scott accepted the position of Harrison County Circuit Judge and served on the Bench until 1985. He retired from the Bench and served as Prosecutor in Crawford County, Indiana and private practice law for a period of time. Scott finished his career with a lifetime appointment from 2001-2021 with the Federal Government as an Administrative Law Judge retiring at the age of 80. Scott was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite member. He was truly an inspiration to us all.
He was preceded in death by his parents Thelma and Scott Miller, Marengo, Indiana, sister Sharon Moffett and niece Shela. He is survived by his spouse Donnetta, daughters Michelle Tehrani (Shawn), Angelique Clark (Chuck), and son William Scott Miller (Jessica), grandchildren Nicolas Tehrani, Ethan and Joshua Clark. Stepchildren Karlie Taylor (Darren), Michael Boley and Sarah West (Joe) and grandchildren.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at the Old Capitol United Methodist Church, 141 S. Heidelberg Road SW, Corydon, Indiana 47145.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 11, 2022 at the Brown Funeral Home from 4-8 pm and after 12:00 pm until time of the service at 1:00 pm, at the Old Capitol United Methodist Church.
