After a life well-lived, filled with sun, sand, and simple joys, Susan Kay (Judd) Brown finally found her 'Cheeseburger in Paradise' on November 14, 2025.
Susan Kay Judd was born on December 12, 1948, in New Albany, IN. She grew up in Milltown, IN, and attended the Milltown Christian Church. She graduated from Milltown High School in 1966.
She married Harry “Skip” Brown in 1967. They had two sons, Eric Brown in 1969 and Scott Brown in 1972. Susan graduated from the New Albany School of Practical Nursing in 1974, the same year she moved her family to Jefferson City, MO. In Jefferson City she worked for Dr. Ennis in his private practice and then for many years for the state of Missouri at the Prison Farm. She was divorced in 1989 and returned home to Indiana in 1991 and worked at LifeSpring until she retired.
While living in Indiana she completed an Associate of Arts degree in 2001 and further studied in Art at Indiana University Southeast. Susan was a talented photographer, sculptor and painter. Her family members especially cherish her oil paintings.
Susan’s mother was British-born, and Susan travelled to England several times throughout her life to visit her British side of the family. She was also very proud of her long time family ties to Milltown, IN.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents; Marshall Judd and Kathleen (Jones) Judd McDonald, Stepfather Stretch McDonald, her infant sister Donna, her brother Glen Judd and ex-husband Skip Brown.
Her beloved surviving family members include: her son Eric and wife Carla Brown of Columbia, MO. their children Alex Brown, wife Michelle Woods of Columbia, MO; Clarissa (Brown) Katnik and husband Jake Katnik of Ashland, MO; Theo Brown, his wife Brittany Brown of Columbia, MO, and their daughter Sophie Brown, Susan’s only great grandchild. Her other son Scott Brown and his two sons: Greg and Matthew Brown of New Albany, IN.
Funeral services will be on Thursday, November 20, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Milltown Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service at 1:00 p.m., at the funeral home on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
Bro. Bruce Hawkins will officiate the funeral service.
