Thelma Jean (Thomas) Sims was born on November 1, 1941 in Borden, Indiana and was crowned at the gates of heaven at 6:48 am on January 10, 2021, after a short battle with cancer. Thelma passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family.
Thelma is survived by her three children Ramona Malloni (Joe), Teresa Holbrook (Kenny), and Ralph E. Sims Jr. (Jenny); five sisters, Ada Campbell, Linda Watts, Kay Darnell, Judy Thomas, and Vickie Thomas; two brothers, James Thomas and Bill Thomas, 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren, along with countless other family members and many friends.
Greeting Thelma and rejoicing at the gates of heaven are many: her husband of 58 years and the love of her life and best friend, Ralph Sims Sr, her father, George Thomas Sr., her mother, Agnes Crawley Thomas, parent in laws: Dortha and Lawrence Sims; sisters, Doris Pearson and Carol Thomas; brothers: Glenn and George Thomas; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of Thelma’s life will be held at Brown Funeral Home, 306 Spring Street, Milltown, Indiana on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 1:00 pm. Visitation from 11:00 am until time of the service at 1:00 pm.
Interment will follow in the Taswell Cemetery. All are invited for a reception and fellowship at Taswell Christian Church, adjacent to the cemetery.
