Verna Lee (Sacksteder) Ferguson

Verna Lee Ferguson, 84, of Milltown, died Sunday, June 4, 2023, at her home. She was born December 22, 1938, in Leavenworth, to Edward and Mary Sacksteder. She was first and foremost a devoted wife and mother, worked in banking and insurance, retired from JP Morgan Chase Bank, was a member of the Leavenworth Presbyterian Church and attended Milltown Christian Church. She graduated as Valedictorian from Leavenworth High School and was a member of Leavenworth OES.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Charles (Sonny) Edward Sacksteder; and her son, Douglas Edward Ferguson. 

Survivors include her husband, Jay Ronald Ferguson; her sons, Jay Myron Ferguson (Donna) and Kevin Joseph Ferguson (Kristy); daughter-in-law, Tammy Ferguson; her best friend and sister Gloria Jean Booth; niece Kirsten Culpepper; her 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Milltown Christian Church. Private burial immediately following in Milltown Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday at Milltown Christian Church.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Milltown Christian Church.
