Vivian Joan (Rizer) Crecelius

Vivian Joan (Rizer) Crecelius, 86, of Milltown, Indiana died on January 24, 2024 at her home.  Vivian was born on July 20, 1937 in Frostburg, Maryland to the late Robert Walter and Elizabeth Jane (Herman) Rizer.  Vivian married Leon K. Crecelius Sr. on December 19, 1952 and he preceded her in death on April 22, 1999.

Vivian was a retired janitor for the Milltown Elementary School.  She attended the former Milltown United Methodist Church and Marengo Wesleyan Church.  She enjoyed crocheting, shopping, growing flowers, and going on outings with children and grandchildren.

She is survived by her sons: Leon “Bronk” Crecelius Jr. (Ginny) of Milltown, Indiana, and Joe Crecelius (Diane) of Milltown, Indiana; daughter, Janie Miller (Dave) of Milltown, Indiana; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leon K. Crecelius Sr.; sons:  Robert M. and Rex Crecelius; brother, Robert L. Rizer; and a grandson, Joseph Crecelius.

Funeral services will be on Monday, January 29, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana.  Interment will follow in the Batman Ridge Cemetery near Milltown, Indiana.

Visitation will be on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 4-8 p.m. and after 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, all at the funeral home.

Bro. Bruce Hawkins and Bro. Paul Walerczak will officiate the funeral service.
