Zelma F. (Cox) Thompson

Zelma F. (Cox) Thompson, 87, of Milltown, Indiana died on July 16, 2022 at the Countryside Meadows in Avon, Indiana.  She was born on July 18, 1934 in Marengo, Indiana to the late Artie Cleo and Helen W. (VanMetre) Cox.

Zelma was retired from Wayne Supply and a licensed auctioneer.  She enjoyed volunteering at the Milltown Police Department, food pantries, and at church, where she taught Sunday School class.  She liked the outdoors, traveling, and reading.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her former husband, John R. Thompson.

She is survived by her children:  Houston Thompson (Martha), LaVone Novotny (Jim), and LaVern “Penny” Blanchette (Art); six grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Brown Funeral Home in Milltown, Indiana.  Interment will follow in the Marengo Cemetery.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 from 5-7 pm and after 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am on Wednesday, all at the funeral home.

Rev. Philo Jones will officiate the service.
